A few important AI features of the Samsung Galaxy S24 have just surfaced.
A post by tipster @MysteryLupin (via 9to5Google) seems to list all of the AI functions that the Galaxy S24 series will have. For instance, the Phone app that Samsung installs on its phone has real-time language translation.
Then there is "nightography" zoom, which appears to be a unique form of image processing for photos taken in low light conditions, allowing for the clear capture of more details, even when enlarging a subject from a distance.
Additionally, a generative edit function is described, which appears to mimic some of the features of the Magic Editor found in Google Photos on some Pixel phones. Imagine being able to tap to remove items or fill in vacant spots.
All about the AI
Though we'll have to wait and see for sure, it appears from the headlines in the promotional material that some or all of these AI functions might only be available on the more costly Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra models.
It appears like Samsung is determined to keep up with Google in terms of its own smartphones, since we know that the company has crammed a ton of AI wizardry into its most recent Pixel phones, with additional capabilities expected to arrive with the Google Pixel 9 next year.
For months now, there have been rumors that the Samsung Galaxy S24's attraction is mostly due to artificial intelligence. Prior leaks have suggested features like an audio recorder that can automatically transcribe speech from up to ten different voices.
We now have a better notion of the capabilities of these phones thanks to this most recent leak, and by the middle of next month, Samsung will provide us with an official summary. It's possible that the improvements will go far beyond AI functions.
